SIREN ELISE WILHELMSEN
  • Siren Elise Wilhelmsen (1982) is a Norwegian designer based in Berlin and Bergen. She graduated from Universität der Künste Berlin in 2010, with a thesis called Everything Counts, based on the relationship between products and numbers - resulting in the concept 365 Knitting Clock. Later the same year she founded her own design studio.
  • The main motivation for designing Siren finds in the curiosity and the investigation. She creates products, furniture and installations – both for the professional and the private market – and seek through her work a conceptual way to stimulate ideas and discussions around our everyday objects, rituals and culture.
  • Siren´s works has been shown during the Milan Furniture Fair, London Design Week, at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, the National Museum in Beijing and at other international design fairs and exhibitions. She has been awarded with the title Newcomer of the Year by both the Foundation for Design and Architecture in Norway, Norsk Form, in 2012 and German Design Award in 2013. She was also nominated for the Nova Design Award 2012 – as the Nordic Designer of the Year.
